Once the installation is done and its working (Test presentation catalog), try to open some of OBIEE client tools like Job Manager…etc., they don’t open
This is because in Windows there is wrong value set to ODBC System DSN Driver and Setup parameter is not created. Let’s fix these two issues…
1. ODBC System DSN
Go to Start–> type regedit and press enter
a popup dialog box will be opened. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE –> SOFTWARE –> ODBC –> ODBC.INI –> coreapplication_XXXXXXXXXXXXX
In the right pane all the related parameters are shown. Double click on the Driver parameter and change value data to: C:\MW_OBI\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\server\bin\NQSODBC64.dll (it was pointing to the wrong dll i.e. NQSODBC.dll)
After installing OBIEE11g on windows 64 bit installation, the ODBC System DSN is set with a wrong driver file path on Microsoft Windows x64 with the following details.
2. Setup parameter
Like ODBC, Setup parameter is also pointing to the wrong dll or Setup parameter was not created at all. If it is created and pointing to wrong dll edit the value data to: C:\MW_OBI\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\server\bin\nqssetup64.dll ( it was pointing to nqssetup.dll)
If Setup parameter was not created, carete it (right click –> New –> String Value) and add the value data.
Now go to Start –> All Programs –> Oracle Business Intelligence and see all applications have got Oracle icon.
That’s it…I will write my next post on How to remove OBIEE 11g from Windows7 as I am going to remove it what I’ve just installed
